Description
This is a historic site turned park that was previously owned by Theodore Roosevelt. This is a pretty big property that has a house turned into a museum, the house where he lived until his passing, as well as expansive park grounds. The museum has memorabilia and other exhibits related to TR. The house itself is full of personal effects, and guests can have a tour to see every room, from his bedroom to his office. Aside from the buildings, the park itself has multiple trails to go on and offers scenic views. Expect a lot of people and some owners with their dogs.
There are bathrooms available in the park as well as a free parking lot open to guests, which unfortunately can fill up fast. While the park is open 7 days a week, the museum and Roosevelt Home are only open Thursday to Sunday. The museum and home are open 12 pm - 4:30 pm. The museum is free, while the Home can only be accessed through tours that you buy in the Museum. Ticket sales start at 9:30 AM and can sell out FAST, so come early. The price is $15 per person.
